Originally, we wanted our topic for this year to focus on repurposing vacant lots due to the safety and environmental issues these vacant lots posed. We wanted to acquire a vacant lot and transform it into something beautiful, beneficial, and unifying for the community. Unfortunately, we were unable to acquire permission to repurpose the lots. Instead, we promoted these vacant lots on our website to attract potential buyers of the land.

In addition to the vacant lots project, we decided to host a park day event to address the prominent issue of pollution. The park day event was composed of various activities, such as the Poke-Garbage Scavenger Hunt, and Garbage Aim, each of which held a meaningful purpose of promoting sustainability and encouraging community members to be more environmentally conscious. While our participants had fun, they also learned how to keep Elmhurst cleaner and safer.
