Our mini group successfully presented their research and volunteering experiences at the New Life Community Health Center and food pantry in order to raise awareness about homelessness in our community.

We separated into two teams and participated in a scavenger hunt around Elmhurst in order to get to know our community better. One of the missions was to take a picture with someone tall.

Don't Walk By

This Friday and Saturday we had Ellen from Bowery Mission, Jessica and Stephen Rowe give us tips and wisdom about people who are homeless and how to provide them with the needs to help them out of their situations.

Based on the responses that we gathered through multiple community needs assessments, we created a problem tree to identify the root causes and effects of homelessness.

Posters

We made posters for the upcoming 5k walk/run (5K Walk/Run GS4PR) hosted by the Girl Scouts of New Life Community Development Corporation. The goal of the event is to raise money for the Girl Scouts Council in Puerto Rico after the devastating impacts of hurricane Maria.
